“Eat & Greet”
Last month we had a successful and fun “Eat & Greet” which involved food trucks, vendors, bounce houses, face painting and a preschool open house. Multiple school tours were given, the playground was well used and the evening was beautiful. Thank you to Kelly Rogers for all her hard work to organize this event and pull it off without a hitch. Thank you to all the volunteers and all who attended. Thank you to Thrivent for their support.
New Church Directory
It’s time for us to update our photo directory. This will be a great tool for our new pastor to have when he/she comes. Save the date, Friday August 17, 12:00—7:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 18, 10:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. We will photograph all families here at Nativity. Our directory won’t be complete without you. Watch for more information in the coming weeks for scheduling information and volunteer sign up.
Love Circle's last meeting before the summer break is June 11th. At this meeting we count the Least Coin (loose change) that we have been saving for the last year. This is not a fund raiser, it is The Fellowship of the Least Coin and has been around since 1956. The money collected is sent out by an International Committee as a grant to people who are selected on basis of need. There are programs of literacy, health, social concern, leadership development and sometimes disaster relief. These grants help women and children to have a better life. It is a Women's Ministry that is a powerful force in bringing about justice, harmony and peace in the world. Along with prayer, we can see that even the smallest things can be used by God. This year Love Circle is inviting you to be a part of this ministry. All you need to do is bring your least coins to our service on June 10th and place them in the container supplied. No paper money, ALL COINS PLEASE. Everyone can be a part of this fellowship of love and caring. Ceil Thomas, Love Circle.
Do you have an hour to spare on Saturday, June 16? Come join us in the fellowship hall as we prepare hundreds of sandwiches for the homeless and hungry.
ELCA Youth Gathering
Three of our youth, Sara Hoekstra, Caitlin Morrissey and Dylan Morrissey will be traveling along with chaperone Kelly Hoekstra to Houston, Texas June 27 through July 1. There they will be attending the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering and their days will be spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship. During this time, the young people will grow in their faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. Thank you to all members and friends that helped them raise money to attend this wonderful event.
Thank You Keller Williams Realty
Once a year, Keller Williams closes all their offices to go into the community and donate time and energy to help improve their property. Nativity was chosen this year and Thursday, May 10, we had a sea of red as 30 to 40 employees came to work. They washed and painted all the playground equipment, donated and built 3 sandboxes and 2 benches, planted new plants, pressure washed sidewalks, sealed the loggia ceiling and painted the sanctuary door and classroom.
Sock It To Em!!!
Father’s Day is June 17. DADS & MOMS OR KIDS--Would you help us commemorate that day with a “traditional” Father’s Day gift—A PAIR OF SOCKS—OR 2, OR 10? From June 3 through June 24 we will be collecting socks for our underprivileged neighbors at St. George’s Episcopal Center in Riviera Beach. Now they have access to a shower trailer every Thursday and foot care twice a month. Help us to provide a pair of new clean socks to each of them after they have used these services. Help meet or beat our goal of 200 pair!!! Bring White or Gray Athletic length socks. LOOK FOR THE SOX BOX in the reception area!“Eat & Greet” Last month we had a successful and fun “Eat & Greet” which involved food trucks, vendors, bounce houses, face painting and a preschool open house.
