If you are an active Thrivent member, you have the ability to form two Action Teams per year. An Action Team can help feed the hungry or sponsor a fundraiser. Thrivent gives $250 seed money for each team. Don’t know what to do...contact Julius Roehl at email@example.com or 493-8873for ideas.
Picture this...gathered together over an easy supper, we share the high and low points of our week, we read a bible verse or story, sing a song or two, talk about how the reading might relate to our highs and lows, pray for one another’s highs and lows, and send ourselves with a blessing. This is not going to be your typical Advent service. This will be quality family time. All ages and all stages of life together, exploring and sharing faith interactively and joyfully. Let us create a space together where the wisdom of the elder and wonder of the child can feed one another's faith. I know how precious your time is during the week. This will be well worth your time. Together lets set aside busy, and give our attention and thanks to God together this December. I hope to see you at church during Wednesdays in Advent, December 5, 12 and 19 at 6:30. Pastor Steve
Parents Night Out
December 14 we will have another parents night out beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sign up sheet is on the reception desk. Cost is $20 per child, $40 family maximum. Evening will include snacks, movie, games and maybe a visit from a jolly soul dressed in red! Enjoy a night out or get your Christmas shopping done without the kids. Nativity youth will be involved in helping with the younger children.
You may have noticed that the our living room (loggia) now has a Christmas tree with some very special angels on it. These angels are names of kids in the Riviera Beach area that are from low income families. If you would like to shop for one or more of them, please take your angel after signing the book with the corresponding number as on the angel. All new, unwrapped gifts must be returned by December 14th.
December 16 from 3-7pm we will be hosting our live nativity. It is sure to be an engaging hope-filled interpretation of the birth of Jesus Christ for the community. Food trucks, bounce houses, petting zoo, and Christmas vendors round out an afternoon of seasonal cheer. Please contact Council President Kelly Rogers on how you can contribute to the day's events. Come experience the birth of the Light of the World under the light of day!
Place an order for your poinsettias to help decorate the sanctuary. Flowers are $10 each and can be given in memory or in honor of someone special. Order forms are in the back of this newsletter or in the church office. Please pick up your poinsettia after the Christmas eve service.
Preschool Christmas Program
Our preschool children will present “Joseph Dearest, Mary Mine” on Thursday, December 20 at 6:30pm. Please join us for this annual musical performance.
