All Saints’ Sunday
Sunday, November 5, we will remember all our loved ones that have passed away in the past 12 months. Please add their name to the book on the baptismal font. No duplications please.
Sunday, November 12 will be our annual Women’s ThankOffering Service. This tradition dates back to the 1800s when Christian women formed “mite” or “cent” societies to fund missions. When others in the church said there was not enough money to carry out these projects, the women believed otherwise. In these societies, each woman collected offerings at home. On occasion, they would gather as we do next Sunday to worship and combine their offerings and offer them up with thanks and praise. When Women of the ELCA was formed nearly 30 years ago, we committed to continue this tradition of giving in gratitude for blessings. Each year, in thousands of congregations, Thankofferings are collected and sent to support the life-changing ministries of Women of the ELCA. Women’s Love Circle will be taking an extra offering collection after the service to send to the Women of the ELCA.
Saturday, November 18, join fellow friends and members as they prepare hundreds of sandwiches for our neighbors in need. Time is 9:00am in the fellowship hall. Many hands are needed.
Our Salvation Army Angel Tree will be going up November 19. You will be able to choose your angel and shop for their Christmas gifts. Please mark your name and phone number next to the child’s name and number in the book next to the tree.

THRIVENT ACTION TEAMS
Thrivent and their members have a fun way to help the community. If you know of a worthy cause, you are encouraged to form a team (3 or more people), apply online and get support from Thrivent. Applicants must request 21 days in advance of the event. Each member can request seed money of $250 at least twice in a year. You must apply at Thrivent.com/actionteam and within 5 days you find out if your project is approved. If it is, you’ll receive resources, and seed money to get started. There is a list of 101 ways to spark action in your community on the bulletin board in the loggia. If you have questions, please go online to Thrivent.com or talk to Sarah Davis or Kari Donnelly.
Thrivent Choice Dollars
Thrivent members please remember to designate where you would like your Choice Dollars to go before the end of the month. If left undesignated, they will go back to administration costs.
Openings for our 2017-2018 school term will be filled on a first come first serve basis beginning February 1, 2017. If your child is the age of 4 on or before 9/1/2017, he or she is eligible for the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program. This year you can get the needed certificate online. Please go to family central.org, click/ select Palm Beach County and follow the steps to enroll into the VPK 2017-2018 program year. We also have openings in our Pre-K 2 and Pre-K 3 classes along with early care starting at 7:30am and afercare until 5:30pm.
Many of us pay our bills online nowadays for convenience. Your church offerings can also be done directly through your bank. Stop by your bank to see if they can help you set up automatic payments to be sent directly to the church. This frees you from writing weekly checks and also helps the church with financial stability.
LOOKING FOR A PROJECT?
This year as we have no property council representative, we could use help if anyone is ever interested in running a property work day or helping on any type of project. There are jobs from time to time that require outside help like pressure washing sidewalks, picking up debris and limbs from the outer property, trimming trees, cleaning signs and filling pot holes to name a few. We are currently looking for someone to help with painting. If you are interested in helping with this or any other project, please talk to Pastor. Thank you.
We are again collecting for Harmony House, a support home for women and children recovering from abusive situations. They can use: women’s clothing, children’s clothing, toiletries for women and children, twin bedding only, small appliances, kitchenware. NO CANDLES or HALF USED TOILETRIES. They can also use non-perishable food and paper products.
